MY Story:
CEO: JaQuan Borders
Having a dream means nothing if you do nothing to fight for the dream to come true. Many ask what drives me to be the man, entrepreneur and artist that I am today?
My first thought is my grandmother. My Grandmother is on my mind everyday since I lost her to cancer in 2012. Let me put it this way for you, I have gone down many roads to make sure I get to where I am today and what I desire to be tomorrow.
A little about me. I was born in NYC. Raised by my mother and grandmother, who raised 7 and adopted 7, A HERO. My mother, single mom of four, I never witnessed drugs or alcohol, STRONG, I love you. A true queen. Years later we moved to Virginia, city kid in a small town trying make it out and into the fashion industry which has been a dream of mines since a kid so now to have my own brand to photograph. I'm more then happy - the process and grind isn't easy; you cannot cheat success for God knows who's sacrificing and making the efforts.
The struggles I have gone through to get where I am now have not been ones I wish on anyone but they have made me the man that I am today. I've slept in my car without hesitation to chase my goals - to ashamed back then to tell those around I was down. Lost friends to death and jail ( too many to name ) death can tear most individuals, especially if it's streets; me knowing through my life lessons I am here for a bigger reason - larger deed; I'm here to express and deliver my message to the universe. Through that it has made me appreciate where I am with my brand today. It has brought about AgainstFakeLove and what it means to me.
AFL: is an acronym - #AgainstFakeLove
"The brand which shares a story of who you are."
